BKFC Featherweight Champion Kai Stewart Set to Join The Brandon Mason Show as Title Picture Heats Up

MIAMI — BKFC World Featherweight Champion Kai “King” Stewart is set to join The Brandon Mason Show for a full interview, bringing one of bare-knuckle fighting’s most important current title conversations into the Brickell studio.

Host Brandon Mason — journalist, media personality and “The Plug” — plans to put the difficult questions directly to the champion as the BKFC featherweight division takes shape around two leading contenders: undefeated Edgard Plazaola and Bryan “Cash Cow” Duran.

According to BKFC’s current official rankings, checked on October 6, 2026, Stewart sits atop the division as champion, Plazaola is the No. 1-ranked featherweight contender and Duran is ranked No. 2.

Stewart most recently defended his title against Harry Gigliotti at BKFC 92 at Fenway Park on August 29, 2026. His upcoming appearance on The Brandon Mason Show is confirmed, but an interview date has not yet been announced.

THE QUESTION AT 145: PLAZAOLA OR DURAN?

The central question for Stewart will be simple to ask and much harder to answer: Who deserves the next major opportunity at the featherweight championship?

Plazaola has built an unbeaten BKFC record and currently holds the division’s No. 1 contender position. Duran, meanwhile, has been vocal about wanting another shot at Stewart and publicly targeted the champion following his September victory at BKFC 93.

Duran and Stewart already share history. The two met at BKFC 62 in Hollywood, Florida, on June 21, 2024. BKFC’s official results record Stewart’s unanimous-decision title defense over Duran. Their rivalry remains part of the conversation as Duran pushes to get back in front of the champion.

The Brandon Mason Show will ask Stewart directly how he views both challengers, whether rankings should determine the next title opportunity, what he believes each fighter brings to the matchup, and whether unfinished business with Duran outweighs Plazaola’s current No. 1 contender status.

No future fight between Stewart, Plazaola or Duran is being announced by this story.

AND WHERE SHOULD IT HAPPEN?

The location will be part of the conversation as well.

South Florida would carry an obvious storyline. Duran is closely associated with Florida, Stewart and Duran previously met in Hollywood, and both Plazaola and Duran have recently appeared in The Brandon Mason Show’s Brickell studio.

But the interview will leave the question open rather than claiming a location has been chosen. Possible discussion will include South Florida — Miami or Hollywood — Montana, Stewart’s fighting home, or another major BKFC destination or event. Mason will also ask whether the biggest possible stage should determine the location.

These are potential discussion points, not selected venues. This announcement does not claim that BKFC has chosen a location or booked any of these possible matchups.

DIFFICULT QUESTIONS FOR THE CHAMPION

The interview will go beyond a standard fight preview. Brandon Mason plans to press Stewart on:

• Edgard Plazaola’s No. 1-ranked featherweight contender status.
• Bryan Duran’s demand for another title opportunity.
• Stewart’s previous fight with Duran.
• Whether Duran has done enough to earn a rematch.
• Whether Plazaola should get first priority because of the official rankings.
• What Stewart believes separates him from both contenders.
• Where the next championship fight should happen.
• Whether Stewart is looking beyond the current featherweight field toward larger crossover opportunities.
• What remains for Stewart to prove after establishing himself as BKFC’s featherweight champion.

These are questions for the upcoming conversation, not answers or positions attributed to Stewart before the interview takes place.

THE BRANDON MASON SHOW’S BKFC CONVERSATION CONTINUES

This interview follows recent appearances by both Edgard Plazaola and Bryan “Cash Cow” Duran on The Brandon Mason Show.

That creates a strong editorial setup: the show has now heard from the division’s No. 1 contender, the No. 2 contender, and will next put the championship questions directly to the man holding the belt.

The conversations form part of The Brandon Mason Show’s expanding Brickell interview platform. The show’s role is editorial: asking questions and presenting the perspectives of its guests. It has no role in BKFC matchmaking, and this interview announcement does not imply that BKFC is affiliated with or endorses The Brandon Mason Show.

Kai Stewart’s appearance date and additional interview details will be announced by The Brandon Mason Show. The full conversation will focus on the future of the BKFC featherweight division, the challengers pursuing Stewart, and the champion’s own view of what should come next.
