Bryan “Cash Cow” Duran Joins The Brandon Mason Show for a Candid BKFC Conversation in Brickell
The BKFC featherweight contender sat down with Brandon Mason to talk Kai Stewart, Edgard Plazaola, the title picture, the “Cash Cow” persona and life beyond the ring.

MIAMI — BKFC featherweight contender Bryan “Cash Cow” Duran joined Brandon Mason inside The Brandon Mason Show’s Brickell studio on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, for an in-depth conversation covering his career, the BKFC featherweight title picture, his rivalry with champion Kai Stewart, Edgard Plazaola, his “Cash Cow” persona, life outside the ring and his future.
The appearance came one week after Edgard Plazaola, BKFC’s top-ranked featherweight contender, sat in the same chair. Taken together, the two back-to-back sessions gave The Brandon Mason Show a rare look at both leading challengers in one of bare-knuckle fighting’s most competitive divisions.

The road back to Kai Stewart
Duran has made no secret of what he wants next. He challenged Stewart for the BKFC featherweight championship at BKFC 62 in June 2024 and lost by unanimous decision — the only loss of his BKFC career. Earlier this month he returned to the win column with a unanimous-decision victory over Charles “Felony” Bennett at BKFC 93 in Hollywood, Florida, and immediately renewed his push for another title opportunity.
In the studio, Mason pressed Duran on what he believes would be different the second time around against Stewart, and on how he sees the current state of the featherweight division. No rematch has been announced by BKFC.
The Plazaola question
With Plazaola ranked No. 1 and Duran No. 2 in BKFC’s official featherweight rankings, the conversation turned naturally to the man who visited the studio a week earlier. Mason asked Duran about the possibility of facing Plazaola if the promotion decides that fight must come before another championship opportunity. No such bout has been booked, and the discussion reflected the open state of the title picture rather than any announced matchup.
“Cash Cow” and “El Gallo”
Beyond the rankings, the conversation explored the persona. Duran discussed what the “Cash Cow” identity means to him, his ability to draw attention, and his ambitions beyond simply winning fights. BKFC officially lists his nickname as “El Gallo,” and Mason also raised the conversation surrounding Jake Paul’s use of the same name.

The man outside the ring
The interview also went beyond combat sports. Duran spoke about being a father and the personal side of a fighter audiences do not always see, along with his long-term goals both inside and outside the sport.
After the cameras stopped, Duran posed for photos with Brandon Mason — known as “The Plug” — and Brittany Mason, Brandon Mason’s wife, beneath the studio’s illuminated sign.
